Why we are different

My role as a tester is quite diverse when it comes to everyday tasks, from manual testing to automation. During interviews, I am happy to talk to people that are interested in the same area in a friendly kind of way, more as sharing the experience with each other rather than throwing technical terms and wanting strict answers. I think the "positive vibe" and friendly atmosphere is really important during interviews.

From my position as Managing Director of Simplity RS and also a Lead Developer of our  Accurity product, I am often asked to participate in the technical part of the interviewing process. What is most important for me is to make sure that the previous experience of a candidate is relevant and to identify in which area of expertise he or she can bring new value to the team. Secondly, but just as important, is for the candidate to value team spirit and work ethic to be a good asset to the company culture.

Being part of the interviewing process and helping Iconity find good people for specific positions in the field of data intelligence is really enriching to me. First of all, I like efficiency. Our cooperation enables us to find the right people for the right projects and provide the best results for both companies and candidates, while keeping the whole process very fast. Moreover, I find talking to people from various departments, at various levels of knowledge and expertise, very interesting.

When participating in interviews with Iconity, I am trying to help form the most complete picture of the candidate's technical background and skillset. Speaking with someone working in a similar field makes it easy to communicate what was involved in previous projects and work experiences, instead of just listing technologies or job titles. It also allows candidates to explain in detail what they are looking for in future positions. This better level of understanding helps Iconity match candidates with the most appropriate positions as early as possible.

Being on the frontline of various projects, I can offer valuable insights to the candidates regarding activities and future tasks and we can directly assess if candidates fit the project role that we need to fill. That not only helps our customers to find the right people for the job, but also ensures that the candidates feel well prepared and confident for their new challenges. This significantly speeds up the selection process and prevents unnecessary disappointments and loss of valuable time.
